Angelina Jolie may play an indestructible CIA officer accused of being a Russian spy in Salt, however she is not the first to kick behind and look impossibly sexy while doing it.

Sure, Jolie may be the best at her “craft,” but the adoption addict is also defined by these five other women, who too, kick serious a##.

Sigourney Weaver

Weaver is synonymous with fierceness, thanks mostly to her role in Alien. Weaver, out of sheer survival, transformed into a ferocious protective instinct and starred in the 1979 original, directed by Ridley Scott. “Get away from her, you b***h!” rode her all the way to DirectTV commercials.

Linda Hamilton

Similar to Weaver, Linda Hamilton’s kicked a-hole in both the original and sequel. Tell me that the shot of her doing pull-ups in the state hospital does not intrigue you. Also, tell me that whether it’s cyborgs or humans, no one would want to mess with Hamilton.

Uma Thurman

Quentin Taratino’s muse never fails to make some bodies hurt, especially in the Kill Bill flicks. Like Sarah Connor, Thurman’s character has maternal instinct as a motivating force behind her trail of death and destruction.

Michelle Yeoh & Zhang Ziyi 

Not only one but two actress in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon rise to fame through some serious pain. They’re both strong and feminine, beautiful and intelligent, athletic and crafty. Also, their fight scenes are lush and hypnotic under Ang Lee’s direction with choreography by Yuen Wo-Ping (The Matrix).

Jane Fonda

It’s never been easy to operate a laser gun effectively while dressed in go-go dominatrix gear. Barbella, which initially suffered under poor reviews, has since received some cult status. Fonda, after all, was all the hair and legs and campy sex appeal a futuristic, intergalactic warrior goddess needed.

However, the only two people who do not find the rumors funny - is the actual couple.

Jolie and Pitt are suing News of the World for false reporting in regards to a January 24th issue that claimed Pitt and Jolie had called it quits and agreed to custody and property division. Now, I can understand why Pitt and Jolie are upset with the false rumors, but when was the last time a tabloid actually reported something that was true? I thought tabloids were renown for unethical reporting and slanting the truth.

Unfortunately, I once again gave the American public too much credit. It appears some people actually believe this rumor is true, and they are buying into the stories like it’s hot.

The London lawyers for Pitt and Jolie, Keith Schillings, called the report a “false and intrusive allegation” and they plan to sue, given that News of the World refused to retract the story and stand by it’s credibility name.

I really hope the lawsuit would be enough to finally put tabloids under forever, however I do not think we are all that lucky.

Last week’s widely picked-up statement attributed to Brad Pitt, unfavorably comparing his WII movie Inglourious Basterds to Tom Cruise’s star vehicle Valkyrie, was not only “inaccurate,” Pitt’s manager tells People, but “Brad has never even seen Valkyrie.”

The uncharacteristically harsh remark was originally published in a wide-circulation weekly German magazine, and, as could be expected, was reprinted internationally. Problem was, it was never uttered.

As for the two movies, both of which feature attempts on the life of German dictator Adolf Hitler, Cruise’s Valkyrie, after a troubled production history, was released late last year, to indifferent reviews and box office.

Director Quentin Tarantino, after premiering Inglorious Basterds to wildly mixed reviews at this May’s Cannes Film Festival, went back into the cutting room with it and opened the movie to the American public on Friday. While reviews still ran the gamut from four stars to fewer, most critics still singled out Pitt’s no-nonsense anti-Nazi Tennessean.

More telling, reports Variety, ticket sales totaled $37.6 million, an all-time high for a Tarantino movie.

Thursday morning on the “Today Show,” Pitt revealed to Anne Curry that he has seen the “Brad Pitt for Mayor” T-shirts but ruled out a campaign to become the chief executive of the Big Easy.

“I’m running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform,” Pitt jokingly told Curry. “I don’t have a chance.”

He’s right. In today’s political climate he’s far too conservative.

“It’s not what I do best,” Pitt said later in the show obviously referring to his many unsuccessful stints as mayor.

Pitt and his wife Angelina Jolie purchased a home in New Orleans in 2007. However to be eligible to run for mayor you need five years of residency. The mayoral primary is February 6th, 2010.

Just checking, but the people of New Orleans know the stuff Pitt does in his movies is fake? They realize he’s not actually Benjamin Button or Rusty Ryan or Lt. Aldo Raine? We only asked because it’s never a bad idea to question the intelligence of people living in a coastal city THAT”S MOSTLY BELOW SEA LEVEL.

Part of this grass roots efforts stems from Pitt’s charity “Make it Right” which aims to build 150 homes by 2010 in the lower 9th Ward. These homes are known as “Brad Pitt Houses.”

That’s fantastic but signing a check and giving away hard earned money doesn’t qualify one to be a part of the government. Then again, with what’s going on in Washington Pitt would fit right in.

The hotter, better Angelina Jolie?

Who ever knew that playing Laura Croft was such a coveted role in Hollywood?

Angelina Jolie is apparently furious that “Transformers” starlet Megan Fox was selected to play Croft in the next “Tomb Raider” film.

The prequel will focus on Lara Croft’s younger years, which is probably why Jolie is pissed she didn’t get the role over the younger (and guys let’s be honest), hotter Fox.

A source told FoxNews.com that, “Angie was intent on reprising her role. She feels it’s something she helped define and feels robbed that it looks likely to be handed to someone who she considers less capable than her.”

Ouch.

Producer Dan Lin, told about.com: “It is an origin story so it is a younger Lara Croft. It will have character-driven action.”

And all that means? A nice way of saying Jolie is too old to play the part.

The source added, “Angie isn’t a fan of the ‘Transformers’ films and believes Megan won’t do the Lara Croft character justice. She’s also annoyed because she thinks Megan copies everything from her, from her tattoos to her style.”
