No the dude is not fresh off a crack stint, but rather geared up to play his newest role - heroin addicted boxer Dicky Eklund.

The 35-year-old who once famously dropped 63 pounds for his role in “The Machinist” and then quickly bulked up for “Batman Begins,” may have broken his previous record.

Now that my friend, is acting.

The apple is a nice touch. Altough I don’t know any heroin addicts who snack on apples. Maybe you can enlighten me in terms of his diet.

No word yet on whether or not Bale is keeping it all together on set.

While the hot-headed actor is known for his on-set antics, this time Christian Bale fused the um…”positive” energy into a movie about fighting rather than using fighting words.

“The Fighter”  is a biopic currently still in production centering around Boston’s world lightweight champ “Irish” Mickey Ward.

Bale will play the role of Ward’s half brother Dicky Eklund, who served a decade in prison. After Eklund’s release, the former convict turns into Ward’s trainer and turns his brother’s career completely around. 

While Brad Pitt and Matt Damon were attached to the project for quite some time, it was Bale who won the role.

He will star along side Mickey Ward, played in the film by Mark Wahlberg.
