A Nigerian couple just received quite a surprise: Angela Ihegboro has reportedly given birth to a white baby with blue eyes and curly blond hair.

“Actually, the first thing I did was look at her and say, ‘What the flip?’” says Ben Ihegboro, the baby’s father and first official Nigerian to say ”What the flip?” 

Ihegboro, who immigrated to Britain with his wife five years ago, now lives in South London. He also has two other children, both of whom are black.

Ihegboro is adamant that infidelity is out of the question. “My wife is true to me. Even if she hadn’t been, the baby still wouldn’t look like that.”

The baby, which the couple named Nmachi, is not an albino doctors say. It’s an unusual case, but not completely unheard of. Skin and eye color are determined by melanin, and the amount or type of melanin is controlled by about a dozen different genes. Thus, Nmachi’s blue eyes and blond hair may simply be the result of a trace of white ancestry from each of her parents’ genes.

Either that, or it could be a fabricated story given that it was first reported by The Sun, a British tabloid.

According to a recent poll conducted by Newsweek, 202 corporate hiring managers, from human-resource employees to senior-level VPs, as well as a telephone survey of a nationally representative sample of 964 members of the public confirmed what we might have otherwise refused to believe - looks count when companies hire.

Newsweek reported on the eight most alarming trends, so we figured we would toss in our own two cents.

1. Looks Do Matter at Work

In a week when it would appear that Sarah Palin could do nothing wrong, a story related to her immediate family slyly whizzed past the noses of the media undetected - finally, at last, making it appear as if Mama Grizzly has the upper hand.

Palin, who exploded across the Web and through various media outlets with her “Mama Grizzlies” video appears to be taking the first in what could be many subtle hints toward her campaign for presidency in 2012.

Yet while this was all going down, her daughter – Bristol – also had some important news.

Bristol, who infamously announced that she was pregnant during the McCain/Palin run in 2008 has since had an “on-again, off-again” relationship with sugar-daddy Levi Johnston. First, it was their love at the 2008 Republican National Convention. Then it was Levi slamming the family and doing Playgirl. Now, they’re back in each other’s arms and reportedly engaged.

Levi, who has since apologized to the family, helped sparked big-time searches after the news of the engagement surfaced. Immediately, the Web became flooded with ”bristol palin engaged,” “bristol and levi engaged,” and “bristol palin pictures”.

While the media did not take this golden opportunity to take another shot at Palin, individuals on the Web certainly did not skp a beat. Some, for example, speculated that a reality show starring the two lovebirds was forthcoming. Others, are helping spread the rumors that Sarah didn’t hear about the engagement until she read about it in the papers.

Regardless of the gossip, could it be possible that the media is past taking a dig at Palin’s personal life and more interested in her politics?

The Mama Grizzly has hooked us all.

Ultra-conservatives from around the nation fueled the protest with signs that read ”We’ll let you build a mosque on Ground Zero when you let us build a synagogue in Mecca” and “I’m an American Infidel.”

Protest organizer Pamela Geller, a conservative blogger and her group, Stop the Islamicization of America, planned the event because, according to the group’s website, “Building the Ground Zero mosque is not an issue of religious freedom, but of resisting an effort to insult the victims of 9/11 and to establish a beachhead for political Islam and Islamic supremacism in New York…Ground Zero is a war memorial, a burial ground. Respect it.”

Human rights advocates, politicians, and families of 9/11 victims addressed the crowd. Geller added that the family members elicited a powerful, emotional response from the protesters.

But is the “mega-mosque” as some signs read at the protest, indeed a gigantic religious center for Islam?

Not exactly.

While the 13-story community center will include a mosque, it will also feature a performing arts center, gym, swimming pool, and other public spaces. The center is a collaboration between the American Society for Muslim Advancement and the Cordoba Initiative.

“The Cordoba Initiative hopes to build a $100 million, 13-story community center with Islamic, interfaith and secular programming, similar to the 92nd Street Y,” its website says, referring to the cultural institution on the upper East side of Manhattan.

Daisy Khan of the American Society for Muslim Advancement told CNN it was a “community center with a prayer space inside.” She also added that the project was an opportunity for American Muslims living in New York to “give back” to the community.

“There is a lot of ignorance about who Muslims are,” Khan continued. ”A center like this will be dedicated to removing that ignorance and it will also counter the extremists because moderate Muslims need a voice. Their voices need to be amplified.”

Amplified, were the voices, but not from those who apparently “need to be amplified.” Mark Williams (Tea Party Express) for example, reportedly thinks the mosque is for “the worship of the terrorists’ monkey-god.”

The project has the backing of the Community Board of lower Manhattan. It does not require city permission to go ahead.

Rust Buster

Coca Cola is an excellent rust buster. Simply soak your rusted muffler in coke and then give it a good scrub in the morning. BAM! Instant Coke De-Ruster. How you ask? Just know that the properties of coke help break down the rust particles, thus making cleaning that much easier.

Window Cleaner

The citric acid in Coca-Cola also makes for a terrific window cleaner. When your car windows build up with gunk, merely wipe a little coke and your windows will appear brand new once again. This is especially useful for car windows which can get tough buildups of gunk.

“Eat It”

Aside from doing the tradition drinking, Coca-Cola is also used in a variety of cooking techniques. For example, some mix it half-and-half with BBQ sauce for an excellent marinade, while others casserole an entire chicken in it.

De-Skunk

It’s hard to rid skunk, but Coke is capable of removing the extremely unwanted scent. A can of Coke added to a bucket of water with detergent is a nice start, although we’re not sure it will remove the stink in other areas of your body, such as, under the pits. Yeah, we’re talking to you “Stink Pits.”

Pain Killer

The chemicals in Coke are very effective in neutralizing the pain of such rare occurrences as say, a jellyfish sting. This is incredibly handy when most people forget to pack anti-sting lotions at the beach, but do have a friendly coke (or beer) in the cooler. If this does ever happen to you, pour the coke over the area in which you have been stung and bask in the glory. Or, simply avoid the ocean you unwanted stranger!

De-Blacken Pots

Pots, like the ones you cook in, are sometimes coated in a black film. Nearly impossible to remove with “high valued” cleaners, a can of Coca-Cola (at least one inch thick over the film) placed in a stove on low heat, will take about an hour or so. Once fully cooked, you can wash the pot as normal and remove that unwanted gunk.

Clean Clothes

Grease is yet another potent stain that is unable to hold-up to the notorious solvent of Coke (dirt, rust, grease – are you beginning to think, ‘Perhaps I shouldn’t be putting this s**t in my body?). Empty a can of coke into your wash (trust us) along with the usual detergent and run it through a normal cycle. Believe it or not, but that unwanted period stain from Superbad may just be gone.

Kills Bugs

Pour some Cola into a shallow dish and place it near the garden. Slugs, snails, and other bugs – just like you – cannot resist the urge to take a sip. The result? Tragedy! Hence, Coke is a very good first line of attack in your garden and it can obviously save you an enormous amount of money by reducing the need for pesticides.

Healing

Coca-Cola is useful for a variety of ailments. The most common is for soothing upset stomachs (you know you’ve done it just after puking). The soda may also help alleviate nausea, as well as (spoiler: do not read while eating) aide people suffering from diarrhea or a sore throat.

The singer is going legal on a 11-year-old, who in 2007, had her foot crushed by the singer’s car. This lawsuit, is of course, in response to one previously filed against Iglesias. The singer is now pointing the finger at the victim, or rather the mother of the victim.

Enrique disclaims any responsibility for the incident, rather citing that the fault lies with the girl’s mother, who did not ”adequately supervise her and protect her from harm.”

The accident occurred when fans swarmed Enrique’s car after a radio appearance.

The former chess legend received the unwanted knock at the door (he was “resting in peace” after all) in order to prove if he was or was not the father of a 9-year-old girl from the Philippines.

Fischer died in Iceland back in 2008 and left no will. The lack of a will has since prompted a major custody battle over his former estate, including the recent claim from a woman who says the two had a relationship and that her daughter, Jinky Young, was Fischer’s.

I’m not an expert, but a name as strange as “Jinky” should clearly put a man as normal as Bobby Fischer out of the running.

Which poses the question – Is the claim valid or rather a poor attempt at landing the estate?

Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, Fischer’s body was dug up early Monday morning, DNA samples were taken, and he was buried again later in the day.

Classy.

The Lord’s work is to be done in the area of taxes, as the actor allegedly owes more than $64,000 in back taxes. This, according to paperwork issued by the State of California Franchise Tax Board.

The tax police reports that Flanery stiffed the Golden State (which is very broke by the way) out of  $64,684 and 38 cents exactly.
