JohnandMacPhillips MacKenzie Phillips Claims & Defends Incestuous Relationship With FatherTPH has tackled some extremely disturbing and disgusting stories recently but none will buckle your knees and make you throw up a little in the back of your mouth like this revolting and repulsive yarn.

Actress MacKenzie Phillips claims she had a decade-long sexual relationship with her father John Phillips, leader of the 1960’s folk group “The Mamas and the Papas” (think Yeah Yeah Yeahs only slightly more successful).

To enlarge that knot growing in your stomach, MacKenzie actually defended her father on the Today Show, “[it was] a very permissive time and a very rock ‘n’ roll world and pretty much anything went.” Her father “did the best he could,” she said.

[Furrow brow and shutter with disgust]

Sounds like he did the “worse he could.”

The affair started when MacKenzie was 19 (she’s now 49). It ended when she became pregnant and didn’t know who the baby’s father was. The pregnancy was terminated by an abortion paid for by John Phillips.

MacKenzie starred on a television show called “One Day at a Time.” It aired on CBS about hundred years ago. She’s also a renowned drug addict; MacKenzie was arrested last year for cocaine possession.

John Phillips died in 2001.

MacKenize’s stepmothers, Michelle Phillips and Genevieve Waite, both deny the allegations. Michelle thinks MacKenize suffers from mental illness and Waite doesn’t believe John was capable of such an atrocity. According to MacKenize, siding with the father and denying the incest is common.

MacKenize’s half sister, Chynna Phillips, who learned about the relationship in 1997, does believe the incest took place.

The first question that must be asked is why publicized this horrible story? The answer is simple, money. MacKenize revealed these sorted details in her book, “High On Arrival.”

If she is lying then MacKenize is all kinds of crazy. To seek attention this way, and in the process sully your father’s name, is an act of unmitigated selfishness and hatred.

If she’s telling the truth, she’s not doing it so the public can know the “real” John Phillips. The public doesn’t care about John Phillips. He was at best a “D” list celebrity and in the world of popular music he was of little to no importance.

The soul reason Mackenize revealed her incestuous relationship with her father is make money. It’s a salacious story that can sell books, grab a few headlines, and garner a couple of high profile interviews.

Maybe she deserves to profit from this insidious ordeal but to be so flippant and casual about something so evil seems evil in its own right.

Mackenize needs help not publicity.

  • Yeah I agree, this story is sick and I don’t mean that in a good way. Even for Hollywood standards this pushes the envelope and had no right to become public. I agree, she’s make money off of it and if she did do it for the money, you have to truly question if it’s actually worth it.
