Mall Cop Movie Review

If you are an NBA fan you have no doubt been bombarded by the trailer and other various advertisements for this movie.  Columbia Pictures really laid out the bucks to promote this film, but I guess it is a luxury you can enjoy when you are promoting a movie that does not have a major high dollar actor to pay.  Kevin James (who plays Paul Bart) is a funny dude, but is not a big budget guy…yet.  In this movie, Paul Blart is a mild-mannered family man who works as a security guard in a New Jersey mall. For years, he wanted to be a copy but is too fat to pass the physical portion of the police officer academy so is stuck in a dead end career as a mall cop.  One day, a gang of organized criminals place the mall he works at under siege and they take hostages. The mall cop Blart becomes trapped inside, and because of his sense of duty, refuses to leave.   His refusal to leave allows him to become the police’s eyes on the inside and it ends up that he comically has to try and stop the criminals on his own.  Check out a sneak peak of the flick below.
