Roseanne Barr Poses As Adolf Hitler: Insensitive or Just Not Funny?

Just when you thought show business was completely free of Roseanne Barr, the caustic comedian returns with the all the subtly of the Blitzkrieg.

For a recent issue of the Jewish humor magazine Heeb, Barr posed in a photo spread as an Adolf Hitler-looking housewife.

Unfortunately, posing like a domesticated “Fuehrer” isn’t even the worst part. In one picture she’s holding a sheet of what the article calls “burnt Jew cookies” that she just took out of the oven. That’s just flat out wrong.

Posing like Hitler isn’t funny, but maybe, one-time-in-a-million, it’s a political statement. However, pulling gingerbread Jews out of an oven, while pretending to be Hitler, is offensive.

The horror doesn’t stop there. It was not only her idea but she took one of the cookies and a photograph of herself as Hitler and placed them in a Ziploc bag to give to her 13-year old son.

“Maybe this will make my kid like me,” Barr told the magazine.

What kind of kid would be endeared by that gift? When I was 13-years old I knew two things about Hitler, he was evil and he was evil. Is her son Gerhard Weinberg or Ian Kershaw? Is the cookie going in his scrap book between his gummy Reichstag and his anime DVD of the Night of the Long Knives?

Barr is Jewish. Maybe that entitles her to get away with this type of “statement”. However, this appears to be nothing more than a cheap stunt to get her some publicity after her “self-proposed” exile from the public eye. If that’s the case, and we think it is, Barr is even more despicable than first estimated.

The absolute scariest part of the photo shoot is how similar she looks to the Hitler. She really captured his essence. That’s a very revealing glimpse into what makes Roseanne Barr tick.
