Country singer (and we use the term “singer” in the loosest possible sense) Jessica Simpson recently took the stage looking healthy and vigorous. Of course, in the world of show business that means she looked fat and ugly.
In a weekend appearance at the 99.9 Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff, Simpson shocked the world with her new waist size and arm fat.
Simpson wore “mom-jeans,” an unflattering black tank top and a leopard belt. Her outfit made her look more like a waitress from JB’s Roadhouse than an international singing star.
Performing in front of 30,000 in Pembroke Pines, Florida, Simpson made sure to tell the audience, before and after every song, that she’s dating Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo.
“I am so excited that I am going to see my boyfriend tonight!” she told the crowd while putting on his lettermen jacket.
After her set, Simpson admitted that she and Romo will occasionally stay home and partake in this strange ritual called “dinner.”
“My boyfriend is a football player, and he takes up my Sundays and now my Mondays,” Simpson told her throng of fans. “I am so happy!”
It should come as no surprise that Simpson prefers the plumpness. In a famous interview with Harpers Bazaar magazine, Simpson admitted she likes curves on a woman rather a super-skinny frame.
“Curves are better,” Simpson explained. “I don’t get the whole rail thing. It’s not good for your heart, it’s not good for your mind; it’s emotionally destructive, it really is.”
Of course as a dude, I prefer love-handles, chin-fat and long toe nails on a man, but that’s just me.
Is Simpson’s expansion a result of a healthy body image or a symptom of a deep seeded emotional problem? If only someone cared.

It’s entirely up to Jessica Simpson how she wants to present herself to the world. It’s entirely up to the world how they receive her.
She’s more famous for her tabloid exploits than her singing and acting career, so it stands to reason that no one has mentioned the merits of her performance and instead has focused on her appearance and the comments she’s made about who she’s dating.
If she had a shred of integrity, the speculation and discussion of her appearance would have a lot less merit, and get a lot less attention. She shouldn’t have to endure ridicule on the scale she does because she’s gained some weight. The same could be said when she lost a lot of weight, and the press balked at her. I don’t say that in an effort to defend her, I say it because it proves just how shallow we are as a society and just how vulturous the press has become.
It’s harmless and escapist to report on and discuss such frivolous matter, just remember, it shouldn’t be taken seriously and to care one way or another says more about where your interests lie than just how annoying any celebrity might be.

Thanks, Daisy Duke. Nicely stated. Criminy, I wouldn’t want someone commenting on every ounce I changed or what the hell I wore (hmmm, perhaps one of the many reasons I’m not a celebrity). How was the music, by the way?

Jessica Simpson is 5′3 and has a medium frame. She wore a size 6 in this photo. How the heck is this fat? Get real! If Jessica is fat then what is the average size 14 5′5 in height woman supposed to be?
