MelGibson Mel Gibson Takes His Beaver For A RunA couple of days ago Mel Gibson was seen running in New York City with a beaver on his hand. No, Gibson hasn’t snapped. He was just making a movie… about a beaver.

The Australian actor stars in a new film called “The Beaver.” In it, Gibson plays a depressed man and CEO of a failing toy company who believes his beaver puppet is real. It’s the part Gibson was born to play.

We don’t know much about the Beaver except that it’s brown, speaks with an English accent, and smells like Mel Gibson’s hand. Insiders claim that most of Gibson’s lines are uttered by the beaver. It’s so like Mel to let a beaver do all his talking.

The scandalous 53-year old director/actor/producer hopes this role will re-establish him as a legitimate movie star. After all, nothing says Oscar like putting your hand inside a beaver.

The Beaver is directed by Jodie Foster. And from what we’ve heard, Foster has directed a few beavers in her day. She also stars as his wife (Gibson’s not the beaver’s.)

Anton Yelchin plays Gibson’s frustrated son (perhaps he’s frustrated because he doesn’t have a beaver of his own?). You may remember Yelchin from the beaver-less Star Trek and the beaver-less Termination: Salvation movies that were released this past summer.

Apparently, photos of Gibson running around the Big Apple with his beaver out in plain sight for all to see are popping up all over the internet. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to find very many of the pictures because every time we do a Google search for “Gibson’s beaver” we get side tracked.

However we are reminded of that great Hollywood axiom which states never go full beaver. You can go full woodchuck. You can go full marmot. You can even go full capybara. But you can’t go full beaver.

The Beaver should be out in 2010.
