Spring Movie Guide
While spring cannot stack up to the blockbuster, “spend as much as you can” summer season for movies, it’s still a bright look at the things to come.
I don’t know about you but I am a huge movie buff. I live and breath movies so I felt encouraged to talk about some of the up-coming spring releases at your local theater.
And while my Spring Movie Guide may make you feel all warm inside, that $6 bag of popcorn at the theater will likely bring that joy right back down to lukewarm.
Fast and Furious
Although already out in theaters, the new sequel with the original cast is still drawing a lot of hype and big-time numbers at the box office. I want to get into the movie, I really do! But I feel like they should have halted this series about three movies ago.
State of Play
The film brings together a stellar cast of Russell Crowe and the much criticized Ben Affleck, for a thriller that should keep you on the edge of your seats for the entire show.
Crank: High Voltage
And if you want even more action, I suggest you turn to ”Crank: High Voltage” which provides the always action-packed stud, Jason Statham.
Adventureland
The creative team of “Superbad” continue to bank off that notoriety with what appears to be a very funny and interesting story about a group of workers at a local theme park. The cast is also rock solid, although no huge names.
Observe and Report
Seth Rogen is back again with another raunchy comedy full of dirty jokes and great one-liners. No word yet if the movie will see some fall-off from the last few outstanding comedies Rogen has been in.
The Soloist
This time Robert Downey Jr. consults a homeless black man, instead of trying to play one. And while this movie in no way, shape, or form compares to “Tropic Thunder,” I can’t wait to see it. Make sure you bring some Kleenex!
Knowing
Nicolas Cage must have a contract stipulation that allows him to play a role in any action, ”saving the world” type of flick. He returns again to a film that could provide some action, suspense, and another heroic performance by Cage.
