Doesn’t sound like any married couple I know.

To recap, Joel is the Piano Man, one of the much successful sing-songwriters of all-time. And Katie Lee hosted the first season of “Top Chef”—just a slight disparity in their level of celebrity.

This is, or was, Joel’s third marriage. This is, or was, Katie Lee’s first. Then again, Joel is 60 and Katie Lee is 27!

Gee, no wonder they split. Katie must have finally done the math. It couldn’t be because they have nothing in common.

While the married couple of five years confirmed the split, they didn’t mention a reason.

However, TWPH has done some intense investigative reporting. After much due diligence, perseverance, and several shameless wanton acts of depravity, we discovered their list of complaints.

Here now are the reasons why Billy Joel and Katie Lee (33 years his junior) have decided to call it splitsville:

  • Two Words: colostomy bag.
  • Katie Lee thought her friends said, “Billy Joel is hip” but they actually said, “Billy Joel needs a hip.”
  • Joel’s demanding schedule: dinner at four, bedtime at eight.
  • Katie Lee grew tired of him constantly calling her Kathy Lee.
  • Joel kept filling up the DVR with episodes of NCIS.
  • Katie Lee couldn’t understand why he got his all his news from those odd looking folded paper-thingies that turn your fingers black instead of the internet like everyone else.
  • She finally listened to The Nylon Curtain.
  • Joel constantly embarrassed Katie Lee by incorrectly assuming “tweets” was a new slang word for farting.
  • Joel irritating Katie Lee by thinking the iPhone was a sentence (I phone).
  • Katie Lee had enough of her father calling Joel “Pops.”
  • Joel died a little inside every time Katie Lee asked him when he was going to work with Bernie Taupin again.
  • Katie Lee was sick and tired of Joel’s angry rants about telemarketers.
  • For vacation, Joel wanted to go to Montana but Katie Lee wanted to go see Hannah Montana.
  • Still don’t have television at the mansion because Joel couldn’t figure out the switch to digital.
  • However, it seems that the main reason why they spilt was Katie Lee kept playing her music too loud and Billy Joel had it up to here with kids these days!
