Korean Woman Breaking all Stereotypes...At Least at First Sight

The Asian culture is generally regarded as a culture with highly intellectual people who will shatter past high scores on exams and laugh all the way to school.

So how do you explain a woman in South Korea who broke all former stereotypes about Asian people being smart?

I mean we’re talking about a woman who finally passed the written exam for a driver’s license after the 950th time!!!

How can anyone possibly say your race demographic is smart after a story like that?

…Wait a second, something is starting to ignite the old cranium….

…Something profound….Something deep….

(FLASH, goes the light bulb)

Oh, I get it! Asian people are horrible drivers!

…And I finally thought we were past all the racial stereotypes.

The South Korean woman apparently attempted to pass the written exam on a near daily basis since April of 2005. It’s reported that the woman spent more than 5 million won ($4,200 US dollars for you math nerds) in application fees, but until last week had failed to reach the minimum score of 60 out of a possible 100 points.

Keep in mind the only significance of this story is that the women finally is able to take the driving test, as it does not mean she’ll finally receive her license. And if it only took her 950 attempts to pass the written exam, God only know how long it will take to pass the actual driving test.

I know they say some people who are really smart suffer from test anxiety, but don’t ya think after, say, the 50th attempt you would memorize the entire exam?

Shouldn’t South Korea implement some basic rule that if it takes you more than 10 attempts, your IQ is clearly too low to get behind the wheel of an automobile capable of killing others?

I’m told the woman finally passed the test with a score of 60.

Talk about getting it right just in the nick of time!
