Does the Media Hate Sarah Palin?
Sarah Palin announced this past July 4th weekend that she would step down as Alaska’s Governor later this month and would not seek re-election.
In a suprise turn of events Palin went from the poster child (and media scapegoat) of the 2008 Presential Election to obscurity until she decided to make her decision this weekend.
Which is very interesting. Why this weekend? After all North Korea practically sent missiles are way and we didn’t even know thanks to CNN covering Michael Jackson’s death 24/7.
Now everyone is questioning whether or not Palin intends to run for President circa 2012?
Well, maybe not everyone.
The media has been awful quiet on this issue and the timing when compared to Jackson’s media buzzed was either icy on the cake or a bad P.R. move.
Sarah Barricuda claimed the resignation was based on a need to “take a stand and effect change, not just hit our head against the wall and waste valuable state time and money”.
A June 2nd CNN poll had Palin running neck-and-neck with former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and ex-Arkansas governor Mick Huckabee in the top three favourites to head up the Republican 2012 ticket.
However, Palin quickly shot down the rumors of the rumored 2012 ticket, “Some are going to question the timing of this, and let me say this decision has been in the works for quite a while.”
So the recent lack of coverage brings up two questions…
Does the media really not hate Palin as much as first perceived or does the media just really love Michael Jackson?
Or maybe she’s being “hated on” in the black definition.
FYI – “Hated on” To receive a lot of hate or lack of brotherly love.
I guess you’ll have to ask the “maverick” that question.

The media hates Sarah Palin, if she was a democrat, this would be hailed as a historic gesture. More importantly, the media doesn’t care about Alaska.
That’s why I think she quit. Alaska is so far removed from mainstream media (most of them probably think it’s a separate country) that she needs to leave in order to maintain her national presence.
Regardless of what she says, she’s running for president… she better.

I really can’t think of anything Palin could do that would make the news media happy. She’s had a target on her back ever since she hit the national stage. Obama can do no wrong, and Palin can do no right.
Obama can do no wrong to the extent that the news media even turned on Hillary Clinton. Obama is untouchable and Palin is a punching bag. I think I would have done the same thing that she did.
