Another Great Day in the NFL
Sadly, the Indianapolis Colts still undefeated record, or the come from behind victory by the Chargers over the Giants was not the headlining story in today’s NFL news ticker.
No, that honor goes to former NFL Hall-of-Famer Lawrence Taylor, who was arrested once again last night, and news surfacing today that the Kansas City Chiefs have cut former All-Pro running back Larry Johnson.
Taylor, highly regarded as one of the greatest linebackers of all-time, reputation is marred by substance abuse (with confessions that he even used during games) although I’m told the third time is the charm for Taylor. LT was arrested twice for drug-related charges, however cops say despite bloodshot eyes, this time he did not show any evidence of being under the influence.
After LT was arrested for a hit-and-run, police say Taylor was so coherent they didn’t even feel the need to perform a field sobriety test even after he hit another car (then a guard rail) and attempted to drive off with a missing front tire – only to be discovered a couple miles down the road.
The fact that Taylor drove a couple of miles down the road on just the axel makes most wonder if LT has completely lost his mind.
Unfortunately, that has little value when compared to the egomanic, ignorant thing that is known as Larry Johnson.
Johnson first became a name in the NFL after he constantly complained about a lack of playing time (behind one of the classiest guys – Priest Holmes) and has been a headache for the Chiefs ever since. Johnson was removed from the organization today following two homophobic slanders and a public ridicule of first year head coach Todd Haley.
In the last few days, the Chiefs fans were even growing tired of this dude’s attitude, going as far as signing a petition to kick him off the team.
Thankfully Johnson sucks and so do the Chiefs, which prevents the organization from pulling a Brandon Marshall and saying they are past their problems.
The NFL may be the greatest professional league in the world (in some people’s eyes), but the characters we have to deal with it constantly makes me wonder – are these guys getting hit in the head too much?

That’s too bad about LT. I thought he was working/had worked hard to get his life turned around. LJ is an idiot and unfortunately I’m hearing that my team, the Seattle Seahawks, are interested in signing him.
The NFL isn’t the greatest professional league in the world it’s the greatest THING in the world!
