Shawne Merriman Chokes Down Some Tequila

It’s not even the playoffs and already the San Diego Chargers are choking.

Chargers star linebacker Shawne Merriman was arrested Sunday for choking and restraining his girlfriend. The alleged incident took place in the player’s home in Poway, just north of San Diego.

The overall 12th pick in the 2005 NFL draft was booked at 8:30 a.m. and released shortly after 11 a.m. He was charged with battery and false imprisonment.

Merriman’s victim and significant other is “reality TV star” Tila Tequila, 27. Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, starred in “A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila,” a reality show that aired on MTV.

The show’s hook was Tequila’s bisexuality. Both men and women contestants vied for her affections. We’re not certain, but we think it won a Peabody.

Tequila has also posed for Playboy and is occasionally mixed with orange juice and grenadine syrup and served as a cocktail.

Merriman allegedly attacked the one person in the world he’s supposed to care for and cherish the most. Tequila should feel safe when she’s around Merriman, not like a quarterback in a seven-step drop.

On top of that, Merriman is a physical specimen—a behemoth of a man. Tequila is about the size of one of his bowel movements. She’s a little Singaporean doll.

For Merriman to physically hurt her (allegedly) is appalling, disgusting and cowardly. However, you think there will be protestors outside the stadium in Oakland before the Charger’s Monday night game against the Raiders?

Of course not.

Merriman only hurt a woman. He didn’t hurt something important like a dog.

By the way, there’s no truth to the rumor that before his alleged altercation with Tequila Merriman licked salt off his hand and then afterwards bit a lime. That’s totally unsubstantiated.  Take a look at some hot pictures of Tila Tequila in our gallery.
