That’s Why He went to Grad School
The young men and women across the nation currently enrolled in graduate school are the future. However, the future of one specific grad student at USC will have nothing to do with the men’s basketball program.
Despite the NCAA college basketball season nearly three and a half months deep, the program at USC is only 2-5. The Trojan Men were forced to forfeit the 2009-10 season in wake of the O.J. Mayo saga, and were reduced to only conference games with no chance of making postseason play.
And to add insult to injury, team manager Stan Holt was fired after he ran his mouth to the officials over foul calls in a game against the Oregon Ducks.
A team manager passionate about a 2-5 program? You have to remember he’s a team manager. He’s never actually played the game the competitively.
Holt was charged with a technical foul late in the second half of a close game. After that technical was accessed, Oregon went on a 10-0 run and won the game, 67-57. Head coach Kevin O’Neill pulled a George Steinbrenner after the game, firing Holt on the spot.
“The referee told me he was screaming obscenities at him,” O’Neill told reporters. “That’s on me and that will be rectified. It already has been. He’s gone. If somebody’s getting a technical foul, it’s going to be me.”
Sounds like this guy would make a perfect intern for Mark Cuban.
