The Dos Dimes Fight
Fighting over money is common, but it’s even better when you’re dealing with change.
You see in hockey they’re use to fighting because it’s the only sport that allows it (other than a five minute penalty in the “sin bin”) but even this fight seems ludicris.
I guess when your sports ratings are that bad and you make far under what a professional athlete in the NBA or MLB makes, you’re bound to rearrange some faces – even over 20 cents.
Patrick Kane, NHL star for the Chicago Blackhawaks, allegedly picked a fight between him and a cab driver in Buffalo after the cab driver was unable to give them the required change.
According to a police report, the Kane and his cousin paid $15 for a $13.80 cab ride — but became incensed when the cabbie had the dollar bill, but not the coinage, to make change. The cab driver told police he was punched in the face and head, grabbed by the throat, and had his glasses broken during the incident.
Both men were charged with second-degree robbery, a Class C felony, as well as fourth-degree criminal mischief and theft of services, both Class A misdemeanors. WIVB-TV says Kane has pled not guilty.
Congrats. Next time you apply for a job you can mark “Yes” under felon all for beating up a dude over 20 cents.

There’s a phrase that comes to mind here: “keep the change.”
And where in Buffalo are you when you only need to take a $13 cab ride at 5 am? Couldn’t Kane and cousin walk those two blocks?
