If you are like me, then aside from being a rapidly balding middle aged man you are also an internet junkie that spends over 4 hours a day surfing the greatest invention ever….the web.  If you’re like me you also just love top ten lists.  So, what have we learned at this point if you are still reading this?  We’ve learned that (i) you are rapidly balding, (ii) you are middle aged and (iii) you are an internet junkie who loves top 10 lists.  So, what better way for me to pleasure you than to give you a top ten list of the top 10 up and coming places to visit on the web.  That’s right, the top 10 up and coming websites:

CraveOnline.com:  This young male-focused website is number 10 on our list of the top ten up and coming websites.  CraveOnline.com boasts volumes of the type of content that any male aged 18-35 is sure to enjoy reading online.  From chicks, to fast cars, to video games, comics, horror, and more, there is sure to be something for everyone.

MyAnimeList.net:   This kids and teen-focused website is number 9 on our list of the top ten up and coming websites.  MyAnimeList.net is best described as the Facebook of Anime and Manga (its written form) and is both content and feature rich, offering a great place for its many millions of users to interact and enjoy their passion for Anime.

SlashFilm.com:   This film-fanatic website is number 8 on our list of the top ten up and coming websites.  SlashFilm.com began as one of the many millions of film and movie blogs on the web, but has since evolved into a trusted resource for everything movie-related.  The website has a great voice and talented editorial team, which is why it made our list of the top ten up and coming websites.

ThingsPeopleHate.com: Shameless plug.  Hey, we spent the time putting the list together, the least we could ask for is to allow us to fall in the #7 slot in our list of top ten up and coming websites.  ThingsPeopleHate.com is a blog written by a group of three contributors that aim to please with stories about anything and everything that interests men.  Enjoy!

Flippa.com: The ultimate website for those that love websites makes our list as Flippa.com lands in the number 6 slot in our list of the top ten up and coming websites.  Flippa.com is an e-commerce site where people can go to buy and sell nothing else but WEBSITES!  The future of business has shifted, and will continue to shift, to the web, so Flippa has to make our list.

SBNation.com: The ultimate sports blog makes our list as SBNation.com lands in the number 5 slot in our list of the top ten up and coming websites.  SBNation.com is the hub site of a network of over 180 sports blogs that offer local coverage of all the teams in the major sports.  The thirst for local, loyal and fan-led coverage of sports teams is never going to fade and SBNation is providing the perfect service to sports fans as it aggregates all the local sports coverage into a single destination.

TerrorTube.com: Another film-focused site makes our list as TerrorTube.com lands in the number 4 slot in our list of the top ten up and coming websites.  TerrorTube.com is the network home of the TerrorTube Network and boasts coverage of all the latest scary movies, scary pictures, scream queens and related news.  The site, along with its sister site TerrorHotties.com, is a legitimate player in the terror space and offers deep industry coverage of what is a growing niche of popularity (i.e. horror films).

OceanUp.com: Another teeny-bopper site makes our list as OceanUp.com lands in the number 3 slot in our list of the top ten up and coming websites.  OceanUp.com is the TMZ for everything teen, having focused editorial on teen gossip, news and images/video.  The site still smells of a new site that exploded in growth, having not yet spent resources on improving its appearance/design.  Just goes to show, teens are all about the content and features of a site.

SheKnows.com:   This female-focused website is number 2 on our list of the top ten up and coming websites.  SheKnows.com has exploded in popularity over the past few years, having grown from a decently content filled destination covering a few interesting women-focused topics into a deep content rich site covering everything from parenting, weddings, shopping, food, health, love life and more.  The website has a talented editorial team and appears to have enough cash flow to add key features as demand for them requires.  If this was a female focused blog we would have easily ranked SheKnows.com as the number one up and coming site in our top ten list of up and coming sites, but it isn’t, so we didn’t……you’ll have to settle for #2 Sheknows.

RotoWorld.com:   This male-focused website is number 1 on our list of the top ten up and coming websites.  RotoWorld.com is the best fantasy sports news on the web…hands down.  The site was acquired by NBC’s digital unit a few years ago and they have yet to manage to screw it up.  Rotoworld.com’s ability to provide us all with a great resource with the most up to date fantasy sports news is why it lands in the number one spot of our top ten list of the top ten up and coming websites.
